The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, covering 2.4 million vehicles produced between 2016 and 2024. This follows four reported crashes involving Tesla's FSD in low-visibility conditions, one of which was fatal.
The probe aims to assess whether Tesla’s system can detect and respond to such situations. The announcement comes shortly after Elon Musk's Cybercab unveiling, as Tesla faces increasing scrutiny over its self-driving technology, while its stock has dropped 8% since the event.
