Academy Invites 487 New Members, Including Jessica Alba and Lily Gladstone



The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited 487 new artists and executives, including Jessica Alba, Lily Gladstone, Greta Lee, Catherine O’Hara, and "RRR" director S.S. Rajamouli, to join its ranks. With all expected acceptances, AMPAS membership will increase to 10,910, with 9,934 members eligible to vote in the 2025 Oscars. 


This year's invitees include 44% women and 41% from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities, marking significant increases from 2023. The actors, casting directors, costume designers, documentary, executives, makeup artists, and hairstylists branches have invited more women than men, promoting greater diversity within the Academy.
