Air Canada Pilots Could Strike This Fall, Potentially Disrupting Thousands of Flights

Air Canada pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), may strike this fall if ongoing contract negotiations do not meet their demands. ALPA filed a notice of dispute and requested conciliation assistance after talks with Air Canada stalled, despite some progress.

The union is pushing for fair compensation, better retirement benefits, and quality-of-life improvements, arguing that Air Canada’s proposals fall short compared to agreements at United, Delta, and American Airlines. Air Canada stated that while negotiations continue, no strike action can occur before mid-September, and operations remain normal for now.
