Blaze Pizza is moving its headquarters from Pasadena to Atlanta to cut costs and lower its state corporate tax rate. This follows California's recent $20-an-hour minimum wage hike for fast-food workers, which has led to job cuts across various chains.
Blaze Pizza, with 330 restaurants globally, aims to drive its next growth wave with this relocation. Other companies, including Neutrogena and QuickFee, have also left California due to high taxes.
Despite the headquarters move, Blaze Pizza's restaurant-level employees remain unaffected. The California Business and Industrial Alliance criticized the state's policies, claiming they endanger businesses and prompt higher prices and layoffs.
