Canada Overcomes Controversy to Advance in Olympic Women's Soccer Knockout Round

Canada's women's soccer team has advanced to the knockout round of the Paris Olympics despite a scandal involving drone surveillance that cost them six points and resulted in a year-long ban for coach Bev Priestman. The controversy arose after Canada allegedly used a drone to film an opponent, leading to severe penalties.

However, the team secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Colombia. They will face Germany next. Meanwhile, the U.S. plays Japan, France takes on Brazil, and Spain meets Colombia in other quarterfinals. Brazil's Marta will miss the match against France due to a red card.
