Eleanor Harvey Aims for Canada's First Olympic Fencing Medal in Paris

Canada's Eleanor Harvey will compete for bronze in the women's foil individual event at the Paris Olympics, aiming to secure Canada's first-ever Olympic fencing medal. After being defeated 15-9 by American Lauren Scruggs in the semifinals, Harvey will face the loser of a semifinal match between reigning Olympic champion Lee Kiefer of the U.S. and Italy's Alice Volpi.

With a top-four finish, Harvey has already achieved the best Olympic result for a Canadian fencer. Canadian fencers, traditionally not known for contending for Olympic medals, have been making headlines in Paris, with Harvey leading the charge for a historic medal.
