Google in Advanced Talks to Acquire Cybersecurity Firm Wiz for $23 Billion

Google's parent company Alphabet is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for approximately $23 billion, potentially marking Google's largest-ever acquisition. This move follows Wiz's recent $1 billion funding round and underscores Google's commitment to enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities, particularly for cloud computing.

If finalized, the deal would surpass Google's previous largest acquisition, Motorola, and signal a significant investment in the cybersecurity sector to compete with Microsoft and Amazon. Founded in 2020, Wiz has rapidly grown, serving 40% of Fortune 100 companies, including BMW, Slack, and Salesforce. The acquisition talks come amid ongoing antitrust scrutiny of tech giants.
