Katy Perry’s Video Shoot Under Scrutiny for Environmental Impact on Ibiza’s Protected Dunes

The Balearic Government’s Department of the Environment has launched an investigation into the potential environmental impact of Katy Perry’s music video for ‘Lifetimes.’ Filmed on Ibiza and Formentera, the video includes scenes shot in the protected dune system of s’Espalmador, a vital part of the Ses Salines Natural Park.

The production team did not have authorization to film in this restricted area. Preliminary investigations are underway to determine if any environmental laws were violated and if sanctions will be imposed. S’Espalmador is noted for its ecological significance and is a private islet within the park since 1980.
