Nintendo Unveils New Zelda Game Featuring Princess Zelda as the Protagonist



Nintendo has announced a new chapter in its Zelda franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, set to release on the Switch console on September 26. For the first time in the series' history, players will take on the role of Princess Zelda instead of Link. 


Producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that Link has vanished, leaving Princess Zelda to be the protagonist. The new game features cartoon-style graphics reminiscent of 2019’s Link’s Awakening. The Zelda franchise, which began in 1986, has sold over 140 million copies, with last year’s Tears of the Kingdom selling 10 million copies in just three days.
