Residents across much of Ontario are preparing for the first major heat wave of the year, with Environment Canada forecasting temperatures that could feel as high as 45°C.
The heat warning spans from London to Ottawa and extends up to Sault Ste. Marie and Fort Albany. Starting Monday, the Greater Toronto Area and southern parts of the province will experience temperatures of 35°C, with humidity making it feel like 40 to 45°C.
Little relief is expected overnight, with temperatures around 20°C or higher. Southern Quebec will also be affected later in the week. Vulnerable groups are at greater risk of heat illness.
