Quebec Unveils $603 Million Plan to Revitalize French Language and Culture

Quebec's government is investing $603 million over five years to revitalize and promote the French language, as announced by Minister Jean-Francois Roberge. The initiative comes in response to what is perceived as a decline in the use of French, influenced by increasing non-French-speaking immigrants and the dominance of English in digital and academic spheres. The comprehensive plan includes 21 measures aimed at improving French language education, bolstering Francophone culture, and enhancing French proficiency among economic immigrants and international students. The strategy not only aims to reinforce French usage but also to enrich cultural offerings and ensure the language's future in Quebec.
