Shein Sues Temu Over Alleged Design Theft and Counterfeiting Practices

Shein has filed a lawsuit against rival fast-fashion retailer Temu, accusing it of intellectual property theft, counterfeiting, and fraud. The suit, lodged in Washington, D.C., alleges that Temu, owned by PDD Holdings, encourages sellers to steal designs from other brands, including Shein, and prevents them from removing infringing products.

Shein's complaint also claims Temu used stolen trade secrets and falsely posed as Shein on social media to mislead consumers. This legal clash between the fast-fashion giants follows Temu's previous lawsuit against Shein over similar concerns. Shein seeks to stop Temu from using its confidential information and other alleged illicit practices.
