Tornado Watch Ends for Toronto Area with No Tornadoes Reported

A tornado watch issued for areas surrounding Toronto, including Newmarket, Georgina, and Barrie, has ended without any tornadoes reported.

The advisory, which went into effect Thursday morning, warned of wind gusts up to 110 km/h and the possibility of heavy rain and large hail. Environment Canada had deemed the situation "potentially life-threatening." As the day progressed, thunderstorms moved east, and all weather advisories were lifted by evening.

Despite concerns, Toronto Pearson Airport operations were minimally affected, with only a small percentage of flights canceled. The weekend forecast predicts pleasant weather with temperatures rising to 31°C by Monday.
