Walmart Execs Say US Consumers Remain Strong Amid Global Uncertainty




Walmart executives expressed confidence in the resilience of US and global consumers during their latest conference call, citing strong retail sales and consistent consumer demand. CEO Doug McMillon emphasized that Walmart has not seen signs of a weaker overall consumer, while CFO John David Rainey noted the company's solid performance across income cohorts, including upper-income households. 


As back-to-school shopping gains momentum, Walmart has raised its sales outlook for the fiscal year ending in March. However, executives remain cautious due to global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, emphasizing the need for prudent forecasting despite ongoing consumer strength.
